Situated in rural Dalefield Queenstown, our clients were passionate about creating entertaining spaces that were both humble yet refined. This is reflected in the selection of materials used for the interior. The Barn which sits adjacent to the family home, encompasses rich deep tones and textures that are carefully layered, creating an interior that feels both moody and intimate.
Creating an authentic interior that had the subtle awareness of a working barn, was an aspect our clients felt drawn to from early on in the interior design consultation process. Milne Reddell meticulously curated the interior finishes of dark stained plywood walls, natural concrete flooring, blackened steel joinery, dark oak joinery and deep green linen curtains to form a lovely richness to the palette, allowing guests time to retreat alongside the natural alpine environment outside.
Milne Reddell custom designed the unique steel and oak kitchen specifically for entertaining family and friends. The blackened steel bathroom joinery and mirror were also custom designed offering a considered cohesiveness of the materials throughout the barn.
